We're looking to go away next year at Easter for 10 days/ 2 weeks. Our last holiday pre-kids was in Egypt - heat, history, it was amazing. With kids, our amazing holiday was Lyme Regis - collecting fossils, Pecorama etc. We're able to up our budget next year and after 10 years of 'local' holidays we want to go somewhere hot or warm at least.

We don't want to lie around the pool all day, but we're not super sporty either. By then we'll have 11 and 5 year old boys (both dinosaur mad). We don't want to go to Disney and thinking Europe rather than US. Where have you've been that would be fab for us? thank you!

Namibia self drive. Not cheap but something for everyone. Although you say not the USA, have you thought about researching where there might be a good dinosaur museum? Washington DC has brilliant museums and I bet they have a dinosaur or two.

A quiet part of Cyprus & hire a car. Good temperature, good food, history (roman mosaics, ampitheatre etc), lovely beaches, wildlife.

Or Sicily for history & Etna (not been but on my to do with DS list).

Sri Lanka! I've never been but a work friend went last year with her 3 and 5yos and they all adored it. Stayed in Air BnB places, traveled on the adorably Thomas colonial railways, ate fabulous and cheap food and everyone made a fuss of them. Plus, elephants!

OK. I can see I might have to do some extra holidays! Thanks everyone :)

Sri Lanka, loads to see and do. Once there really cheap.
I know a great driver with a car. We did 3 weeks with him and it wasdaround £300 for the 3 weeks that included fuel and his accommodation.
