The best European destination you have visited with your kids.

I'm looking for recommendations of places to visit with my two kids (10yrs and 7yrs) -- what trips have you taken that stand out in your memory? What made it so great? Trip length could be up to a week, or even 10 days.

Two spring to mind that we did with our DCs age 9 and 6 last year.

Diunrell in Holland - great fun for the kids and easy driving access to good tourist spots.

Berlin - very child friendly hotels ,lots of interesting historic places to visit ( obvious kids stuff - Lego discovery centre, Berlin Zoo)

Ours (8 & 10) loved Rome at 7 & 9. They also still love paris, after about 6 visits!

Amsterdam - canals, bikes, Dutch pancakes, trams, great museums and chocolate sprinkles in your bread for breakfast!
