I'm heading up for a holiday in Perthshire (Comrie area) in Scotland this coming April, does anyone have any good recommendations of where to go?

You will be in the Argyll and Trosachs national park so have a look on their website for outdoorsie activities.

There are lots of cycle paths away from the road which would easily take up a day.

There is also Mhor84 near Lochrearnhead, (not too far from Comrie) for a fantastic lunch/evening meal. It's very family (and dog) friendly.

Next to Mhor84 there is Boar's rock in Balquhidder which is only a 45min walk to the top and back but it has a very rewarding view compared to the effort required to reach the top!

The steamer on Loch Katrine is fun, Doune and it's castle are loveley, and there's always just bumming around, enjoing the woods. If your children are little, Dunkeld and Birnam are good, as at the Birnam Institute is a Beatrix Potter exhibit.

You're not far from Aberfoyle (25 minutes spectacular drive) where there's a GoApe. You also have a water sports centre at Loch Ard. Nice forest walks and there is one particularly for younger children with sculptures and descriptive signs.

Lochearnhead also has a watersports centre.

Fantastic soft play centre at Noah's Ark in Perth. Stirling has the castle and the jail.

Auchingarrich Wildlife Park is just at Comrie. Not been for years but my kids liked it.

April/May are sometimes the best time of year to visit Scotland. Weather can be fine and it's still early to be bothered by midges.
