Looking for holiday recommendation that ticks these boxes

We have had a very rough few months and I am trying to plan a super holiday for August 2015 so we have something to look forward to. 2 adults plus 1 child (6) and a baby. (Plus time to save for it!)

Can anyone think of somewhere that meets these requirements?

Must haves are:

  • Somewhere in the Med - sunny and warm in August - ideally with a short transfer at the other end (< 1 hour's drive)
  • Excellent 5* accommodation - family rooms with separate sleeping area. Ideally I am looking for rooms with basic self-catering facilities (kitchenette) within a hotel resort so we can have the option of hotel restaurants/room service or fixing up a snack/meal ourselves. Or self-catering but with daily cleaning. Not really keen on a villa as it's too much like hard work with a baby in tow.
  • Excellent swimming pool(s) suitable for children.
  • Good service, i.e. able to order a drink/coffee from your sun lounger would be nice.
  • Walking distance (

Gloria Golf Hotel in Turkey - gloriagolf.co.uk. We stayed there a few years ago and couldn't fault it.

Beautiful aircon accommodation (with kitchen & lounge) in lush gardens
stunning complex, choice of pools
lots of facilities for children, eg waterslides, play area, kids' clubs
Spa and lots of luxury for adults too, eg, beach massage, waiter service at beach/pools
plenty of choice in the restaurant
right on a gorgeous beach.
The highlight was the staff who were charming and couldn't to enough to help.

Sani resort Halkidiki. Ticks all your boxes, especially if you choose a suite.

Thanks both.

haggard - I was looking at Sani but am a bit put off by the fact that it's a "fake" village, is there anywhere walkable that it not part of the Sani complex itself?
It does seem to get consistently great reviews though!

Tbh it is all a bit fake & sterile, but makes for a lovely holiday though.

The Sensetori Tenerife. They also have them in turkey and Ibiza I believe.
