Would love to take DS to a West End show.... was thinking about Blue Man Group, Lion King, Stomp, Mary Poppins, Wicked. Anyone got any oppinions on what might be the best show for a 4 year old? Or is this a disastrous idea? He likes watching films and enjoyed shows at Jackson Lane, Chicken Shed etc. Any advice gratefully received!

Took DD (7) to Mary Poppins in July and it was absolutely amazing. There were children there much younger and it gripped them, too. It is very bright and loud and fast moving and so professional. It is quite different to the film with lots of extra songs. Would go again in a moment and DD talks about it regularly.

Took dd to Lion King for her 5th birthday and she loved it. Looking at her face made me almost cry . I was going to book MP for her 6th but never did - maybe next year.

i tried to take a 3 and 5 year old to mary poppins but said 3yo was to young and insurance purposes meant he couldnt go in! Same with Blue Man Group. i have seen lion king without the kids and i know the kids would love it, but watch your seats because it is a very steep theatre and if your upstairs at the back the drop is almost vertical!!!! great view though!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw beauty and the beast pre kids and thought it was amazing so well done, would keep fairly young kids attention, depending on their normal attention span.

If they can't sit to watch the tweenies on TV for more than 2 mins they might not last long at a show.

DD saw Beauty and the Beast this summer and loved every second.

Would love to take her to see Mary Poppins. Just can't justify the cost!
