CenterParcs! Some urgent questions!

Why haven't we had any 'top tips for centerparcs' threads recently? Is this the end of MN as we know it? Hasn't anyone gone to Centerparcs for half term?

Could we all have a collective panic about how we might get DS from the Teddy bears picnic to the Creche while I am having a Spartan Shortbread Massage in the Spa and DH is doing pole-vaulting in the Sports centre?

And what number is that car parking space under the ash tree near the path to the cycle hire? It's the best car park space and I want to book it in advance.....

I'm so looking forward t my relaxing break...do you thnk the shop sells pink toilet rolls, or only white?

My top tip: DON'T GO (sorry, I know lots of people love it but I was somewhat underwhelmed).

FWIW, dd jumped around the lodge shouting "Oh look, there's bumpy toilet paper"

Well if it makes you feel better - I am off there next week (on my own) with the children for 1/2 term!

However, I have sadly been there more times than I wish to recall, so know exactly what I am letting myself in for!

And IIRC it is only white loo roll

foxinsocks · 24/10/2006 17:28

you must take loo roll

I always forget and the stuff in the villa is horrible!

Yes, thank you, I feel much better now. It's just so long since I have seen a CenterParcs thread, I was getting concened.

I'm not actually going...we did once though, and I nearly had a nervous breakdown co-ordinating all the activity times and bookings - and then DP put DS in the creche and waltzed off to some long activity out of reach, and didn't give me the code for picking him up, and I could hear DS screaming and they wouldn't let me have him...

I think the best tip is don't feel that you have to do everything! Otherwise you end up scheduling your day as though you were at work !

Oh you'll have a GREAT time. Take yr own bikes - they cost a fortune to hire. We had a blast - one of our best holidays ever. The most important thing, however - and really DO NOT underestimate this - is take your own food. Not only is the food incredibly expensive at CP, but it's all VILE. And very limited - a whole aisle of different flavours of squash but no veg, etc. Take nice wine, good choc, lots of bread and veg and fruit. You will be able to get what ever kind of squash you need on site, however.

trying2bgood · 12/11/2006 22:19

ANYONE GOING TO CP SHOULD LISTEN TO LORD VENGER!

I was also underwhelmed by my holiday there! And shocked by how expensive it all was and how they took money off you at any opportunity!

soapbox · 12/11/2006 22:21

How very strange!

I am just back from CP at Elvedon and there was a whole isle of fresh fruit and veg at teh supermarket!

The bakery on site did lovely fresh bread too!

We had a lovely time - but yes, that did involve spending a fair bit of money!
