Weekend away for me and 8 year old daughter

Looking for some advice about where to take my 8 year old daughter for a weekend break in June. We could go abroad but just one night so definitely not too far... I want it to be special as she's had a tough year

What kind of thing does she enjoy doing?

Are you thinking of a city break with museums and lots of culture? Something more child oriented like a theme park? Outdoorsy stuff? Animals?
