Travelling in the car with kids...

We are travelling by car through Europe with 3 children. Need some advice on entertainment in the car? Any good ideas????
My children are 8, 7 and 4. Thanks!!

We found in car DVD players (with headphones) invaluable.

I presume you've thought of all the 'I Spy' / Pub Cricket (tho that only tends to work in the UK) / Car registration collecting type games?

2 Playmobil people each - game can last ages (if they play Playmobil generally)

Spot the difference books

Cheap MP3 players with headphones (you can get them for single figure prices).

DVD Player can be good too - ours are 9, 7 and nearly 4 and last year they weren't that bothered about watching... maybe we need new dvds!

Drive at night is the best tip though. And refuse to engage in eye spy type nonsense too early in a long journey or you are doomed...
