Where can we go for first flying abroad holiday for one week in August with a 9 y.o. and 11 y.o. We'd rather not have to hire a car. Grateful for any advice...

Malta? Relatively small, easy to travel around by bus, stuff for all ages.

Bit of a broad brief ! Most of Europe is accessible by air/train/bus. What do you want to do, budget ?

What about Nice?
The airports just outside the town. Lots to do, lovely places to eat.
You can take buses very easily I think they are only one euro a trip.

Yes I would agree, Nice is nice! Grin

There is also a train line running right along the coast giving quick access to other places of interest along the coast.

What sort of holiday do you want? You could fly into Malaga and stay in/around benalmadena. Taxis cost €25 each way but it's very much a "fly and flop" type of holiday.

The Eurocamp brochure has quite a few sites which say you don't need a car. Your children sound the right age to enjoy that kind of holiday
