Im not very good on computers and the children say it is because of cookies.

I am hoping for a 'cheap' week away in June with my sister. Maybe Majorca. As I am not going with my family and its outside of the school holidays, we should be able to get something reasonable.

Last night I was looking and one Hotel came up £390 I have looked this morning and no word of a lie it is now £521.

Ridiculous exactly same company and same details. How are you supposed to look and make comparisons when this happens.

delete your internet browsing history then try again.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Is deleting this the same as deleting cookies.
The kids say if I remove the cookies, everything that makes my computer unique, will be removed and I have to start from scratch.

Also flush your cache. Google how to do it on your particular computer.

If it was cookies it would have gone down in price rather than up surely

JANEK

omg panicking now, yes I have googled it and removed the cashe.

however, the first part was asking for my email which I gave. Should you just give your email address? Im now thinking they are going to steel things ?

I don't think they can steal stuff from you, just because you've given your email address, but you shouldn't have needed to, to google some information...

ClairesTravellingCircus · 17/02/2015 20:18

Sorry for highjacking but how does this work? Why do prices go up because of cookies?
Thanks!

Janek · 18/02/2015 10:21

I guess that the website knows you've been there and what you wanted so puts the price up for that thing. If you go on the same website on a different machine it's as if you are there for the first time.

If you book as soon as you look, cookies won't affect you, if you recce a number of options then go back to one you could potentially be charged more. It might be a conspiracy theory, or it might be true...

Interesting! Shouldn't be too hard to check...

Thanks for explanation!
