Swerve Majorca?

I have a 3 y o and a 5 yo and we normally stay in Cala n Bosch and it ticks a lot of boxes for but I am bored. Our priorities are:

  • lovely beach with shallow area for kids (I LOVE swimming in the Med)
  • Nice places to eat (found eateries in CNB to be a bit average)
  • Kids club handy for wet days/alternatively cultural places to go
  • Safe area
  • Friendly people

I was looking at Majorca, specifically Puerto Pollensa, Cala dOr or Cal an Picafort....but I was put off by reports of crime. I know crime is everywhere (I live in South London, but it seems like it is a problem in Majorca. Can anyone offer some advice....we have had a hell of a year and would love a nice holiday to look forward to.

We've been to Majorca about a dozen times, mainly to Cala D'Or, and have never been a victim of crime.

We love Majorca. We've been to Cala N Bosch good, Cala D'Or is much, much nice in our opinion.

Puerto pollensa
Soller

Both really lovely and ticks all your boxes.

Also worth a shout---
Gulf de morbihon, Southern Brittany, specifically trinite sur la mer, auray.
La rochelle and the ile de Rae

We've been going to Pollenca for years. The villa we rented was broken into about 4 years ago, but I think that sort of thing is not uncommon in any resort. Still a lovely place and we still go back.

I was going to suggest Puerto Pollensa too. I was having trouble finding 'package holiday style' (ie not a private apartment) accommodation for a family of 5 in Puerto Pollensa and the only other place I was considering was Cala n'Bosch.

But thankfully I have found somewhere in Puerto Pollensa so crisis averted! We are going back there in May for the 6th time. Never had trouble with package holidays there before, but we only had two children and one infant. Now we have three children apparently we don't fit the standard model any more!

We've never seen any crime, we did hear of someone being jostled at the bus station and having their purse stolen, but that's all and that could happen in any tourist area.
