We are planning to take a short trip to the Lake District in a few weeks. DS will be approx 5 months old. Was wondering if anyone can advise me on suitable back carriers for an infant. We would like to take him on a few walks but I want to be sure that he is totally secure! Is 5 months too young for a back carrier? He's a big boy - 16lbs 6 at 15 weeks and has good head control, but really wanted to see if anyone else has taken a small baby in one of these back carriers. Have seen one - think it was a 'Bush Baby' that looked quite good. Any help would be so gratefully received!!

Thanks!!

I had a Bush Baby and found it really good. You have to make sure that you adjust the back length to fit properly though, otherwise it presses down on you hip bones and gives you backache. I have passed mine on to a friend and she loves it. I carried DS for miles in mine!

Forgot to say, get one with a rain cover - the BB has one

I think most back carriers are for 6months+ or when they can sit unsupported.

I would perhaps look at a front carrier Bush Baby do one too. We had a Wilkinet , which is very versatile and can be worn front, back andd on the hip.
