Just looking and it seems quiet which we are looking for, but not sure what Tavira is like ? Shall we hire a car and explore ? Is it worth it ? We will have a 7 yr, 4yr and 4 month old !

Argh really want to go on holiday but don't want a noisy holiday park, would like some characterful town and a beach and a nice place to stay. Seems like we have to pay so much ! Budget is really about £1500.

Haven't stayed there specifically, but can tell you Tavira is quiet with a lovely beach. Iirc the Park is quite far back from the beach, possibly not walkable with children?

I used to live there! Lovely place, not much for the kids to do tbh but there are water parks not too far away. Cabanas itself isn't huge, a car would definitely be handy Smile

Ahh that's not good must look at the map, if it too far and hot to walk to walk to the beach that's no good. Maybe I need to look at villas in Tavira

Oh sorry, just noticed the resort bit! There are plenty of apartments to rent on the front.

Don't let me out you off! do double check, it was a few years ago we went.
Hope you get something

cabanas is lovely. the sea is much warmer than western algarve. little ferries take you across the harbour to reach the beach, and if you move 5 mins from the drop off point the beach is really quiet. nice bars and restaurants along the front and its a bit cheaper than western portugal - maybe due to the fact that lots of spanish people holiday there.

there's not much to do other than eat/drink/chill on beach. not many towns or villages to visit, and water parks are all a good drive away.

how far is the complex out of cabanas? it looks like a bit of a walk?
