Weather in Austria - August

Has anyone been to Austria in August and can tell me what the weather is like?

I thought that it would be sunny but not as hot as other places in Europe however from looking at holiday brochure it looks like it is quite likely to rain.

I don't mind it being cooler but don't want rain on holiday, any advice?

Usually it is very hot but there are storms in mountainous areas. Be careful of ticks though in woods as they are quite common.
