But don't no where to go.

Criteria:
One week (ish)
beginning of March
with a three year old,
Pref warm
Mid budget,
At least a few things to do.

Had a bit of a tough time lately so we do need a bit of chill out time. Would go stir crazy if nothing at all to do. Cultural or nature excursions would be best.
Gimme some ideas including what's good about the place & what there is to do.

TIA.

Have you looked at Spain? Usually cheap and easy to get to . Or Turkey? Lots of see/do, esp inland. Lots of architecture and history.

With a week mid-march, with warmer (than here!) I'd def do Med. Italy, Greek islands (bigger ones; the smaller ones often don't have good transport to/from out of high season) even somewhere like beaches of Croatia.

Lanzarote? The weather should be warm in March. We found it a good mix of amazing scenery and the more touristy stuff. We hired a car and did a few roads trips taking in the volcanic national park and the north of the island with some random stops on the way. Our little one was 18 months and enjoyed the zoo and watching DH go on a little camel trek.

Cyprus. All the usual sun & beach stuff plus ampitheatres, mosaics, mountain villages. Know of one nature reserve for turtles' safety.

dust - i'm looking at Cyprus for summer! Is it v v hot?

PunkAssMoFo · 10/02/2015 19:17

Cyprus looked nice, but we've plumped for Tunisia, in the hope of warmth. A little apprehensive- have booked 5 but realise it will in reality be 3. Cheap enough for us to still have another holiday later in the year. Couldn't face long haul for just a week & can't take longer atm.
Thanks for the replies.

Cyprus in the summer is definitely hot - it is south of Turkey. We went in October half-term and that was still swim in the sea weather.

We were in Cordoba in Andalucia one year in March and the weather was wonderful! Its a beautiful city. No shortage of cultural activities - there's the amazing Mezquita (world history site - like nothing else in Europe!), all the little whitewashed streets of the Juderia district and the the Alcazar with its lovely gardens (roses, orange blossom....). Our kids were quite little and they were fascinated by the Mezquita (really nice paella restaurant next door!). You could stay in a villa in the countryside or in a hotel (the Parador is great and they have good special offers these days!). Lots of lovely Andalucian countryside around of course...
