How soon do you think it would be OK to fly with bbay after birth? Need to evacuate home for serious building works for at least a month which entails short flight to Ireland to stay with family. Baby due early December and would like to go in Feb (or Jan if could get builder to agree!).

dd was 6 maybe seven weeks old when she flew for the first time. I fed her during taking off. then she feel asleep and woke up when we landed. all the best

Babies can come as much as two weeks late. Babies can come by section. At which point, the problem won't be when the baby can travel, but when you can travel, particularly if your DH/DP wouldn't be with you.

So the baby could be born mid-December by section, which means you should be ok by February, but January is probably pushing it.

DD was only 3 weeks old when we flew to France. It was very easy, the only recommendation is really to feed the baby when the plane take off and come down so the baby ears don't feel painful. We flew when she was so young because I never thought that she was going to be born 12 days overdue!!! So we had already bought our plane tickets, we had to call the travel agent to add the newborn baby and organise a passport straight after the birth. She is only 5 days old on her passport picture!!!! DD is now 15 months old and it is now a bigger mission to take the plane for 1 hour or more... so enjoy the trip with a newborn

I live in a remote location and we get flown home from the hospital so my DSs flew at 4 days and 3 days old!
