25th wedding anniversary trip

Would really like some suggestions for A trip to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in October.
Was thinking of Cape town but any ideas welcome.
We only have a week because of leave etc not sure if it's a bit too far for a short time.

Its a very long way to go for a week. what about a city break to Barcelona or Rome there would be plenty to do in a week and what you save on flights you could spend on a nicer hotel. alternatively, New York if you are near an airport that flies there it would be doable and different.

We have been to most European " biggies" and much as we love them we wanted something different

Blimey Londonbug1 you are decisive!! Hope you have a super trip.

Cape Town is fab and prefect for a week away, it's only a couple hours time difference and flight is only 12 hours. I have been there for a week ebfor no problem.

Now just have to lose three stones beforehand

Hire a car and get out to Stellenbosch for the wine lands. and maybe go to Hermanus to see the whales. There should be plenty there in October and they come right into shore. Amazing! Go to Chapmans Peak and Camps Bay too. You will have a great time.

It really does sound like something special
Have always wanted to see whales as well so fingers crosed xx
