Thinking of going on a cruise with a group of other women

Have recently joined a social group and a holiday opportunity has come along to go on a cruise with them. They seem like really nice people - all in their 40s. Anyone any exerience of cruises. Are they full of families/couples?
Trying to work out if this is for me.

Yes they are full of couples snd families but it doesn't really affect you unless the social group is all couples? I went as a single parent and had a great time lying in the sun and exploring the ports by day and watching the shows etc by night.
People are creatures of habit so you soon bump into familar faces to talk to.

Are you sharing a cabin though. Would be really expensive if you are on your own wouldn't it?. If you want a singles holiday then Explore type holidays might be better or ones for sun activity you like - wine tasting, sailing, whatever.

Couples, families- some with gp's, groups of friends, wedding parties, just like any other holiday.
Go for it cruises are brilliant, we are about to go on our 5th next week.

Cruises often have a group of single passengers, the entertainment team would be able to introduce them to each other and organise a dinner so that they can get to know each other. If you went as part of a group of singles you might all be able to meet some other people that way to socialise with. Being with friends wouldn't be unusual.

Disclaimer: I haven't been on a cruise !
I have however been on holidays with groups of people before I met DH. I think a cruise would be good choice as a group. There would be lots of places you could meet up, but also go to if you want to be on your own.

Cruise rooms are meant to be small though, so I'd try to get a single room. I shared rooms before when I was in my 20s and it was ok at the time but could be a bit hit or miss, I wouldn't like to be within breathing distance of a stranger .
