Silly Question-Al Fresco holidays

Having a look at Bella Italia-there is note I see that only swimming costumes allowed in pool and caps are mandatory but all the pics have people in shorts and not a swimming cap in sight! Does anyone know -is it swimming caps then?

We went to Camping del Garda last year, which is on the other side of town; it was most definitely Lycra shorts and swim caps, which any self-respecting teenager wouldn't be seen dead in! We swam in the lake a lot!!
I noticed the pics of Bella Italia with no caps etc; can only assume they're old photos?! They do sell the caps cheaply in all the shops (they're thin cotton/nylon ones - completely useless!)
