Camping in the Vendee first week of September

We are planning to go to France on the 29th August for a week with Brittany Ferries or maybe Eurocamp. As it's the last week for most campsites I understand that most of the stuff will have closed, but as long as my kids have the pool and slides they are happy. I'm trying to find a site that is within walking distance of local restaurants etc since so it isn't too much like a ghost town. Can anyone help, I've been searching the internet for hours!! Need an indoor pool too in case of rain! Would also consider south Brittany. Meant to say we take the Plymouth Roscoff ferry.

Thank you!

We've been to a few round there but all a bit isolated, none near a town.
I would advise though to look at eurocamp website as it is great for choosing campsites. However, we always book direct with the campsite as is usually better accommodation and quite a bit cheaper than eurocamp. When comparing prices though don't forget to factor that the campsites charge extra for cleaning at the end wherS eurocamp don't. Also look at the castels website, all their campsites are pretty good. A friend has stayed in one of theirs in Brittany and loved it.

We've stayed here in vendee. It was walkable to restaurants, beach (although probably 15mins....mostly we drove as we are lazybones). Still open for the dates you're talking about. Outdoor pool and slides and an indoor pool. Children's sandy play area and footy area.

That's great thank you! pinkisthenewpink that was one on my list, typically it all went out the window, found a couple of lovely sites but was then vetoed by children & DH for a park with 8 waterslides! I did it through Brittany Ferries in the end (was actually £5 cheaper to book the holiday, than just the ferry!!). Also managed to tag on a couple of days in a Eurocamp in Brittany on the way down. Looks like DH will be doing a far bit of driving...
