Yes, it's fab. Your 5 yr old will find plenty to do - 3yr old will be a bit young for alot of the science bit but it is all very interactive so it's easy enough to keep them entertained. The rainforest bit is good too.

We were taken aback at how superb this was - your girls will just love it. Mine was only 18months when we went and even she had a great time. In fact we've thought about another weekend in Bristol just to go back there ...

It is really good - my 3 year old dd prefers wildwalk atm, ds1 (5) is into the science bit now.

tortoiseshell · 18/10/2006 12:01

Actually, having said that, last time we were there, dd spent hours building cnex models

We have only done the science bit with our children (then aged 9, 8, 5 and 2) and it was great. Almost better than the hands on bit of the Science museum in London.

Noah's Ark Farm Zoo is wonderful, just south of Bristol. Lot's of interaction for the kids, and some great animals, and in a very attractive setting.

went to @Bristol (science bit) with a 1yr old and a 3yr old (only one was mine ) and they both loved it. There was plenty for them to be interested in. Although they didn't really 'get' the science they both loved it.

NOah's Ark is also supposed to be good. Also Bristol Zoo. But @Bristol is central and easy to get too. You could maybe do wildwalk and science bit in same day (there's a ticket you can get to do both), but it depends how tired the kids get.

Yes, you'll manage the two in one day. It's nice around there too - lots of boats and you could do a riverboat trip (takes about an hour) from nearby if it's a nice day. The zoo is fab too - lots of monkeys and penguins (all that matters where ds is concerned!) and there is a good playground in there for them to run off some steam.

I miss Bristol...

Took our 2.5 yr old who loved it - we enjoyed it too! Another great and best of all, a free place to go and visit is Blaise Castle in North Bristol where there is a fabulous walk and one of the best outdoor children's play areas in Bristol.

There's the steam railway on the dock by the industrial museum too - doesn't run all year as I recall but some of the dates are on here
