European Holiday - Not all about the pools

I am having an ongoing argument with my OH about a holiday & if I dont find a solution we are going to lose having a holiday at all.
He, for many reasons (dont even get me started), wont do anything to do with swimming or paddling or water in general (not a fear or anything - have no sympathy for him; he is just being ridiculous). Anyway......
I am desperate to get abroad & all the resorts are all about pools, so he is saying no to everything. Does anyone know of any resorts which have all the kids clubs, all inclusive etc (i.e. actually a holiday for mum as well rather than just swapping one house to another) which isnt all based around pools???

Thanks in advance
Jxx

try the Neilson or Mark Warner places that do the dry land sports; mountain biking and tennis are the big ones. If these don't appeal, not impossible but do pick a place that has a village and walking nearby. Many of the AI places are very isolated.

or go without him

You don't say how old your children are but google Kinderhotels in Austria. They may have a pool or a lake but normally there is enough to do without touching water apart from the shower in the morning.

But what about you and the children. Surely a pool is lovely and something different that you appreciate on a hot holiday? It's not like he would have to go in is it.
I can't imagine anywhere AI / resort based wouldn't have a pool although special subject has a good thought. Also Explore and adventure type holidays might work. Not relaxing as such but the pressure to watch and entertain the children is off. Horse riding or camel trekking type things.
TBH I'd be booking my own holiday with the children in your shoes.

My DH hates pools too for ridiculous reasons! It's frustrating. Id just tell him to stay inside or go off on his own while you and the children enjoy yourself in the pool Smile

BTW I never use a resort swimming pool either - the sea is cleaner, quieter, often warmer and usually much more scenic. Is it just the pool he doesn't like or is it that he wants non-water-based activities?

What about a city break like Nice or Barcelona, plenty to do and see, nice weather but its not all about sitting around the pool. Unless you and the children do want to do just that then maybe some sort of compromise ? What does your husband like to do on holiday?
