British airways cabin baggage

Just a quick, and probably silly, question.

I'm flying with BA who allow a cabin bag and personal bag in the cabin.

The personal bag can't be bigger than 45cm x 36cm x 20cm including handles, pockets and wheels.

My personal bag is smaller than this but it is a handbag with straps so you carry it over your shoulder. They are not rigid and flop down at the side if you put the bag down.

If I laid it flat and stretched out the straps it would be longer than 45 cm

Does this count or is it only rigid handles they are talking about?

It should be okay because your bag is smaller than this anyway. Think they are more concerned about bigger bags with rigid handles.

Thanks Atila - how are you? Long time no speak!

It will be fine. It needs to fit in the locker which it will. Straps don't count.

Some airlines have cages which they ask you to put your bag in to check the size if they think it looks too big.
