New to Mumsnet- Child's Passport Current Time Scale

Hi all

I'm new here and was just wondering if anyone knew the waiting time for a child's passport using the post office check and send service?

My child's renewal took 6 days just before Xmas.. Sent it myself, not check and send.. Couldn't believe it

I used check and send over the summer when there was a big backlog. It was DDs first passport and only took 4/5 weeks.

We sent a new passport for a child off on the 10th of Jan, documents came back on the 16th, passport arrived on the 17th! Seriously impressed.

We did use check and send, and it was only done at 5pm in the PO so were told it wouldn't go till Monday!

We had a very similar turnaround time with passports this time last year. I think they were probably in the passport office building for no more than a couple of hours!
