My sporadically lovely dps have offered to have the 3 dcs Fri pm-Sunday early afternoon over 19/20th Feb.

I'd like to find someplace really lovely (ideally, a dinner, bed& breakfast package) to go for 2 nights with dh within 2/2.5 hours drive from London.

Any recommendations please? Budget of around £500 for 2 nights.

Thanks in advance :)

The New Forest has some lovely hotels, with nice walks, pubs etc.

Rhinefield House and Careys Manor are lovely.

Bath Priory looks lovely, but really scary prices!

Off to look at the others - thank you :)

Careys Manor has a lovely spa - and Brockenhurst is a pretty little town. Breakfasts are fabulous.

It does look lovely, but I'm not really so fussed about the spa stuff so much. How about Chilterns, Sussex and Suffolk....any suggestions?

Lime Wood House is beautiful in the New Forest as is The Pig Brockenhurst or Swanage

We had our first child free night away here and really enjoyed it and we're picky
Amazing breakfast and gorgeous luxurious rooms. Beccles is a sweet place to wander around too. Enjoy!

Maybe a bit far, and I haven't been here, but I really want to go!

Hotel 41 London
Driftwood Portscatho
The Scarlet, Mawgan Porth. Actually this is my first choice.

If you join Groupon, they have some nice getaways for a discount price, so you may be able to get somewhere really nice for less money

A friend recently went to some place called Crazy Bear in Beaconsfield. Looked fab.
Hotel du Vin in Winchester or Cheltenham are very good too.

plipplops · 20/01/2015 16:03

Hotel du Vin Cheltenham is lovely :)

Fillybuster · 21/01/2015 12:25

Thanks for all the fab suggestions. We decided to book in at Drake's in Brighton - fingers crossed for a great weekend :)
