Am looking for small, safe car as second car, but must have high seating position as i have back injury. I like what I've seen of A-Class, does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks!

We hired one this summer whilst waiting our new Volvo to be delivered. I liked it - felt very high up compared to most other small cars. Very nippy & easy to park.

Oh thanks, Milliways. I drive a Zafira at the mo, love the high position espec for getting kids in and out of seats without bending double! Glad to hear you could park it easily, I have not parrallel parked my Zafira ONCE in 4 years !

  • well we are back to a Volvo V70 Estate, so I will never even try the parallel parking!

Can you test drive one for a weekend / 2 day test? DH was set on a Galaxy until he found after a weekend test that he couldn't cope with the driving position.

I've had an A class for a year and love it, the high seating position is great for DD as she can see out of the windows, push chair fits in the boot as well as shopping.
Go for it!!

oops

was feeding dd3
we had an A class for 4 years - bought it just before dd1 was born and only just got a bigger car half way through expecting dd3 ( now have an estate!)
I loved the A class - very nippy to drive, easy to park as it's quite compact, seats high up and not squashy inside. We had 2 children in it for 2 years and could still get a 3rd seat when taking little friends home from preschool or on outings. could also get adult in back with 2 car seats
down sides - boot space is limited
agree that you should do a test drive, maybe hire one for a day or go on test drive at local dealers. we first drove one as a hire car on holiday in spain years ago - they were stilll fairly new in uk as they hadn't done very well on a top gear show - were all recalled and some jigging done, and then back on market

i'd love to ave it back actually but it isn't big enough for 3 kids!

Thanks for advice everyone, I will definitely book a test drive. I have 3 children, but this is the second car, so my dd who is 10 will sit in the front most of the time. It sounds great, glad to hear can get buggy in the back! Maybe will even be able to parrallel park!

Hi
I got an a class automatic at the begining of Sept. I love it so does DS age 11. Its so easy to drive and park. For me though I love the cruise control and speed limiter. At pres I am at uni and taking DS to school and then going to uni and back each day. These wizzy gadgets mean I dont get caught in some very odd places where you think it should be 60mph but is actually 30mph! Its a very safe car, it has done v well in the crash tests. If you get one enjoy it.

We've got a semi automatic A class and a Zafira. A class is small but I find zafira a better car on the whole, much nicer to drive.
