Hi

I'll be travelling with my toddler from London euston using virgintrains. I'm just wondering when is the best time in the day to travel I.e. When it'll be the quietest?

easily spotted; look for the time when the fares are lowest! This indicates low demand and hence emptier train. Mid week, mid day, not school holidays.

the quiet coach isn't the place for you but there should be plenty of room elsewhere. You reserve a seat when you book. When you get on the train, look for seats showing 'available' and with luck you'll find two together.

do NOT miss your booked train, pay on the spot fares are huge.

I often book the first on peak train (from Euston to Manchester). Ticket is still cheap for me as I have a family railcard (well worth it IMO if you make train journeys as it makes it cheaper to buy a seat for you & your child than to just but a seat for you) people make an effort to catch the off-peak train 20 mins previous to it.
