I have been divorced for many years, i kept my married name as my child has her fathers surname and i didnt want her to feel different that i had a different surname to hers, my question is to anyone who maybe able to help is my new partner and myself have just had a baby and need to get him registered can i use my maiden name on his birth certificate and still keep the surname i am currently using or will i need to go back to my maiden name for this to happen, as you can maybe understand my partner now doesnt really want my ex husbands surname on his childs birth certificate i would be greatful for any advice on this matter
