you could try the new Hoxton hotel - has had good reviews and apparently doesn't rip you off like other hotels on mini bar prices etc!

do you mean the City or London generally. Friend of mine had her wedding anniversary in the Charlotte Street Hotel, a luxury boutique hotel. It's on the web

bakedpotatooooowoooh · 09/10/2006 17:27

i've drunk at the Great Eastern, it's a Conran hotel I think

wheelsonthebus · 09/10/2006 17:28

it's at www.firmdale.com

I've been to a wedding at the Great Eastern - it's lovely. Though being right next to Liverpool St station it's not the best location. If I was you I would go for a hotel in Clerkenwell - I've always fancied the Zetter or the Rookery. But being a Londoner myself, I rarely have the opportunity to actually stay in these places!

You lot are great!

Needs ot be "city" as have to take clients to Arsenal game on the Saturday so want to be relatively close as I hope to have a huge hangover and a wonderful lie in without dd!

WitchICouldGiveUpWork · 09/10/2006 17:45

Well if any other MN'ers fancy getting drunk there with me on Friday night then come on down!

OP posts:
bakedpotatooooowoooh · 09/10/2006 17:47

so drunk that my memories of the bar are rather impressionistic
i think there was a chandelier

WitchICouldGiveUpWork · 09/10/2006 18:04

And did you swing from it or just toss an item of clothing up there

I bought my sister a night (without kids, the idea was a good nights sleep) at Malmaison in Clerkenwell and she said it was fab and quiet as it's in a private square.

WitchICouldGiveUpWork · 09/10/2006 22:51

Now that sound slike a good idea www....

Well stayed at The Great Eastern in the end and have a hangover (still)the size of a small continent.
Great cocktails-think I probably tried them all...
Thanks to everyone for your recommendations-had such a lovely time taking my hangover round Borough Market this morning for breakfast I may just have to repeat the exercise!

WitchICouldGiveupwork, what was the Great Eastern like? I've booked it for dh and I in a few weeks time, would be nice to know I've made the right choice!
