Anyone know which P+R to get in York to take me to the NRM?

I am taking DD to York to the Railway Museum on Friday to meet up with her cousin for his birthday treat. Rather than pay £7 to park in the car park I am planning to do park and ride. But am unsure which route takes me to the museum. I don't want to take the pushchair so need to make sure I am on the right route.

TIA

Are you heading to York form the north or south??The Askham Bar P&R stops at the train station..this is a 5 min walk from train museum. To get there the quickest way is to walk actually through teh station itself...go over the footbridge and keep going...this takes you out of the back entrance to the station, you just follow the path from down the steps and it brings you out next to the museum. You cant miss it as there is a massive ferris wheel thing.

If you are heading from the North let me know and i will double check which one is best.

There is also one of those road-train thingies that takes you form the museum into town next to the minster but not sure how much this costs and is a 10-15 min walk tops.

I will be coming on the A64 from the west so Askham Bar should be fine. Is that the one by the big Tesco?

I am not unfamiliar with York and have been to the NRM a few times before. BUT because I am planning on taking a 2yo and no pushchair I need to ensure I am doing it right!

Thanks!

Yes thats the one. Just asked around at work and the Green line Rawcliffe Bar one goes right past the museum but personally I would go for the Askham Bar one (white line) as it is right by the A64 so no trudging round the ring road.

Hope you have a good day out!
