transportdirect.gov provided a comprehensive service for people with and without private transport. Postcode to postcode, place name to place name railway station to railway station, bus and much more. They've stopped operating and I cannot find an equivalent service. Does anybody know?

ps and as for travel planning to the Olympics - all you needed was a tube/train map! Ridiculous.

Yes, that is what I found. And none of the other links work. I have discovered through a friend that if you just type both postcodes and public transport into Google you get quite a bit of useful information. Not as good at the earlier website though.
