Can I drop bags at airport the day before?

Just booked flights from Heathrow terminal 5 with Iberia for next Easter. Flight is v early, so I have booked an airport hotel.

I know we can can check in on-line, but I read somewhere about dropping hold bags off at the check-in desk the night before. Can this be done?

any other tips? I haven't flown for years and years.

I believe there is is no day before check-in for bags at Heathrow. It is available on certain airlines from certain airports, but not those. I think there is some left luggage storage but that's about it- if in doubt I'm sure either Heathrow or Iberia can confirm.

No, they do not offer such a facility.

Don't know about the night before, but I believe once checked in online, the baggage drop queue is separate and allegedly faster.

This was a different story when we travelled from Tunisia. We were checked in straight away, and we couldn't check in online. There was a huge queue for those who just wanted to just drop their bags off Confused

All the terminals have left luggage so you could use this. I don't see the advantage of dropping off the night before. You will have seats because you have checked in so all you have to do is drop off the luggage and go through security. I have rarely had more than 2 people ahead of me in the bag drop in T5 so it is really quick, but not sure about other terminals. I would always arrive 3 hours before the flight if you can but I don't think Heathrow is ridiculously busy very early in the morning, but give yourself as much time as possible.
