can anyone recommend a nice hotel or guest house in London for me and my 17 year old daughter to stay in at the end of January

I dont really know London ,was hoping someone could advise where to stay for a girlie stay for me and my daughter
budget to be reasonable but not over the top
maybe somewhere near the central to catch a show and do some shopping and sightseeing
