due to bereavements, I dont want to be here then. The dc's want to have Xmas day at home, but nothing else matters. We are in Scotland but can travel to other airports. Really tight budget, self catering a must. Just want to get away to somewhere sunny and dry, must be back in school 5 jan. dont need as much as a week, a few days would be good, just to leave here for a while.

thanks for anyone who can suggest anything.

Flights can be a bit more pricey at xmas time.

How about the Canaries? It's the only place I can think of that is a short enoug flight away to do for just a week or less.

Might not be roasting hot - but hopefully pleasant enough for jeans and tshirts.

I have just done a quick search on easyjet - I suspect you won't get much less than £300 per person for the flight.

Finding a villa/apartment will be not too difficult, although again remember it could be popular time.

unfortunately everyone wants to do what you plan - have their turkey at home and then leg it to the sun. Hence it is an extremely pricey time of year. Sorry.

going before Xmas Day would reduce the cost.
