Kids are 6,4 and 2. Will be visiting family over christmas. I have been a few times but never with the children so any advice gratefully recieved! We will be doing one of the disney parks and know it will be crowded, but should we aim for 24/25 or the days around? Hope one of you wise mumsnetters will know! Thank you!

It will likely be crowded whatever day or time you go there!. I would try if possible to arrive there for as soon as possible after opening time (which is 8.00am). There are two parks.

Decide which attractions you want to see before arrival. They still have the "fastpass" system; make full use of it!.

The character "Duffy Bear" which is sold there is very popular.

A day trip out to Kamakura is lovely.

If you can get to the sumo museum, the museum isn't great but it's right next door to the sumo stadium and quite often, you will catch the wrestlers walking around in their robes and slippers (some of them are happy to pose for photos too).

My kids were a bit older than yours when we went but they enjoyed the views from the Metropolitan building near Shinjuku (it's free!)

There was also an outdoor museum a bit further from the centre which has old Japanese houses in it's grounds - good for kids to wander around in as it's set in a park. Will check the name for you.

Edo-Tokyo Architectural Museum

Disney Sea is good - the shows are excellent.
