Any small water / splash parks that hotel non-residents can use?

Can't afford 4* All-Inclusive but would very much like to be able to use a Splash park while we're away. Thinking probably Greece, Spain inc Balearics, or maybe Portugal.

Current plan is to book a cheap self catering deal near to one of the bigger hotels that have the facilities. But, I can't find any information on any hotels which either allow entry to non-residents, or who charge a small fee for day/weekly admission tickets as we will just want to dip in and out (excuse the pun).

It doesn't need to be anything amazing, just enough to entertain a 6 year old, so a couple of slides and some splashy stuff would be great.

(This year we stayed in Zante near the Alykanas Village Hotel and they had no problem with people using their kids waterpark, no charge).

Any suggestions welcome cos I've spent hours trawling holiday websites.

Marina Parc Hotel, Arenal d'castell in Menorca has a water park open to non residents.

Should have added, 20EUR per day per person, so you'd probably only want to go in for a day or two. It is lovely though!

There's a water park in Tenerife (not Siam Park which is the huge one, which is probably better for for older children) but a smaller one more suited to 6 year olds and slightly older/younger. It's not attached to a hotel and anyone can pay to go in.

imsorryiasked · 20/09/2014 21:06

Ah, yes that's the trouble, can't afford to pay for the proper parks. I was just hoping that some of the small on-site ones would be open to visitors if you bought a drink/snack or paid a nominal entry fee.

Ah, ok. Sorry, that's my only water park knowledge all used up! (Apart from Maldon or St Albans, but I'm guessing you're after more reliable weather than that!)

Not sure if this link will work, but this sort of thing

Why not stay in a mobile in one of the campsites that have a water park? The campsites in France and Italy are brilliant, I've heard of some good ones in Spain too.

addictedtosugar · 20/09/2014 21:24

The Eurocamp we went to this summer had a park similar to your pic. Don't know what any other sites are like. We had a static caravan, so proper kitchen and beds etc.

rookiemater · 20/09/2014 22:23

Have you thought about Turkey? A lot of the places I looked at when we were planning our hols have a water park, and the prices tend to be more reasonable than some other destinations. Unless you're able to go out of school holiday time, Eurocamp isn't that cheap unfortunately.

Alternatively Acqualand in Tenerife, which I think is the one sara was talking about has discount tickets available usually at the airport and then I think they have one of those come back for another day deals. Tenerife has loads of cheap places to stay.

Or just googled tenerife apartments with water slides and came up with this www.monarch.co.uk/canary-islands/tenerife/playa-de-las-americas/parque-santiago-iii-and-iv-apartments. I think we have walked past them and I think they're in a decent area as well.

imsorryiasked · 20/09/2014 23:08

Thanks, will definitely look at the Tenerife one, and will consider Turkey. Had already gone through all the Eurocamp and similar sites but these were coming out as much if not more than the standard package hols.

You're right about Aqualand, Rookie, thank you, couldn't remember the name - and funnily enough, we've just booked to stay at Parque Santiago next Easter and it does look as of it has slides etc.

Imsorry, if you look at that (or wherever you book) I suggest looking at alpharooms.com as they were loads cheaper than the main agents when we booked.

Good luck!

Star beach in hersonissos in Crete is great. We stayed in koutouloufari, up the hill from hersonissos in Marni Village and had a great time.

ilovepowerhoop · 21/09/2014 09:18

Aqualand is the other one in Tenerife that is not as big as Siam park. Seems to be more tailored to the younger children

AryaUnderfoot · 21/09/2014 10:54

Tsilivi water park in Zante is open to the public. It's a lovely little water park in a great resort.

rookiemater · 21/09/2014 10:56

Actually OP it might be worth posting this up on the relevant country boards of Trip advisor. I tend to do that as well as here when I have specialist holiday questions.

imsorryiasked · 21/09/2014 22:01

Thanks for all your suggestions, I'm going to work my way through them now.

Yes, I like Alpharooms. We have booked a hotel in Majorca for next May with them, for about 2/3 of the price of booking with the hotel directly.

We've used Alpharooms before, 9 years ago, so they are an established company, and their offices are just down the road from us near Sheffield city centre so I know they are 'real'!

OnIlkleyMoorBahTwat · 24/09/2014 11:21

Can you stay B&B in any of the splash park hotels? If you do this and look for an aparthotel where you get a kitchenette, it will be loads cheaper than AI and you can mix and match eating out/cheap meals/easy meals like pizza and BBQ etc. Eat loads from the breakfast buffet and you'll only need one other main meal each day too.

On www.jet2holidays.com you can tick a 'waterpark included' box when searching.

SixerofthePixies · 24/09/2014 11:26

In sidari in Corfu, there is a hotel that has a water park (5 slides I think) that you can use if you are not staying there. I seem to remember we paid a very small fee and just ate lunch there each time we went. If you are interested I could probably find it on a map!!

SixerofthePixies · 24/09/2014 11:27

This is it www.sidariwaterpark.com/

We didn't stay there tho but went twice
