Booking hotel accommodation (Kids Club / Pool) without flights?!

My parents live abroad and in the past, we have stayed with them for part of the holiday then stayed at a local hotel for the other part. Toddlers / young children - happy enough with beach / "ordinary" pool etc.

They are older now and we're wanting to venture a bit further afield from parents, and to a bigger hotel which might have slides / aqua park / kids club shoot me now so the children have more activities on tap.

But, it would still be part of a trip to see parents, so don't need flights. Am thinking Turkey / Cyprus / Greece - anyone booked accommodation in that type of hotel without going through a package?

Any advice welcome!

Yes we did that this year for the first time ever. Booked with alpha rooms and booking flights and hotel separately saved us thousands.

Yes - many a time. As well as alpha rooms try Travelrepublic and booking.com. Used booking.com and alpha rooms just recently on a touring trip (with two young kids) of Spain and was absolutely fine. Pretty sure you can go through Thomas Cook, Thomson etc just for accommodation only. Another tip is if you see a hotel you like through any of these sites, go direct to the hotel site itself as sometimes they guarantee best rates.

Oh sorry, one last tip - try Tripadvisor - you can search for the area you are interested in then if you see a hotel you fancy, you can put in your dates and tripadvisor will do a search for best rates from a number of companies for the hotel only. You can filter reviews as well so look at what families say about hotels etc.
