December family holiday - Tunisia?

We are hoping to go away the week between Christmas and new year or thereabouts.

Where is best to go?

Ideally somewhere hot, cheap and child friendly where things will be open and it's not all shut up for the season.

Tunisia?

Any resorts that are particularly good?

I wouldn't risk Tunisia at that time of year for a beach/pool type holiday.

Me either. I would look at Cape Verde Islands or Egypt for guaranteed nice weather. We had a few dodgy days in Tunisia in May so I definitely wouldn't go in December.

Even the weather in the Canaries is unreliable in December. Average daily high temperatures in Tunisia are about 17 degrees at that time of year so it definitely won't be a pool/beach type of holiday.
