Recommendations for Dubai for DMs 60th birthday

My mum is 60 next year & I'd really like to take her to Dubai as I think she'd love it. I've been before, but visiting friends, so not sure where to stay.

I'd like a nice hotel with a good pool that isn't full of couples & is easy to get to the malls etc.

Anyone any recommendations?? Smile

I stayed at the JA Ocean View earlier this year. It was really nice. Smallish pool but right on the beach and they gave you a parasol etc if you wanted to go.

Super, delicious breakfast. Buffet with lots of choices and just yummy.

It was around a 10 walk to the metro line and not far to the malls.

The beach walkway was in the final stages of development so all the restaurants should be open now - a couple of American chains and some independent ones. It had a nice atmosphere in the evenings.

We stayed at Le Meridien Mina Seyahi last year and have booked to go again for next May.

Really lovely hotel. Its quite small (well compared to some in Dubai) but has a gorgeous feel to it. It was about a 10 min walk to metro (but we got a cab cause it was too hot to walk with a grumpy 2 year old) and then a few stops on Metro to the Malls.

Gorgeous pool and really friendly staff as well.

My DH works in the middle east and has stated in loads of hotels in Dubai and prefers this one to many of the others.

We managed to get a free half board offer for next year when we booked. Its got a sister hotel next door as well-The Westin and you can use all their restaurants and their pool as well and the hotels own pool.

We stayed at The Royal Mirage Hotel - The Palace. It is a One and Only Hotel and the pool is fabulous and so are the restaurants. You can get transport into the city to go to the Malls. Dubai is very bling and this hotel has golden camels in front of it!! The palm tgress decorated with twinkling lights at nigh was beautiful. Service first class and it was a relaxing treat.

Agree totally re Mina Seyahi and Royal Mirage, gorgeous. I took my mum to Mina a Salam, she loved it, I also adore exec level at The Address by Dubai Mall.
