Maybe not the first but by the 6th you'll not care one way or another.

suzywong · 23/09/2006 14:59

yeah, you have a point SD
My mother has taken the order of a bottle of French Red and a decent bacon sandwich ready and waiting for me.

I'm feeling MUCH better now as it's a glorious spring day and we are all eating chocolate cup cakes and playing soccer in the back yard and MIL has gone out.

Can anyone, and by anyone I mean the legions of MNers glued to this thread, recommend a nice trashy yet not too dumb book for the flight?

If you haven't read "The Timetravellers Wife" it would be just the thing for a long flight as it needs to be read in big chunks or you get confused! Fab book, and not at all heavy. Good luck with the flight and have a great holiday - please tell me how wonderful Singapore Airlines are when you get home as I've just booked with them

Pollyanna · 24/09/2006 19:43

I really enjoyed Never Let me Go by Kazuo Ishiguru (sp?) - not a trashy read though, but easy to read and unputtdownable (mindyou, you might arrive thoroughly depressed after reading it )

Hope you have a good journey back! (are you visiting Highgate?)

WideWebWitch · 24/09/2006 19:59

Have you left yet SW? If not what about Wicked by Jilly Cooper, or, even better, Pandora or Polo. You'll be fine after the 2nd G&T I reckon.

suzywong · 24/09/2006 23:58

How long are you going home for Suzy?

suzywong · 27/09/2006 06:24

5 days with my folks then 9 days in London

Actually, I do miss them now. Dds2 always says "Mum, can I tell you something? I lovr you" first thing of a morning which is usually about now. sob.

Mustn't grumble though, I'm off to Waitrose today. YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEE
