Anyone been in October? We'd like some warmth if possible.
TIA

It will undoubtedly be warmer than here, but bear in mind that most of the rainfall in the Med falls in autumn.

We've been to the north a couple of times in early autumn and had lovely weather for the most part, with a day or two of rain/cloud each time. I'd think of it as a beach-type holiday with the distinct possibility of a couple of days of imperfect weather and you shouldn't be too disappointed. Does that make sense?!

Sorry, early autumn = early October

oxfordparent · 07/09/2014 10:34

That's encouraging. We'd be going South, to a small complex with a heated pool. Hoping we can swim a bit or at least explore the sea in the sunshine. We're not expecting proper warmth, just better than here! Thx

Oh and we'd for half term, so late October.

This website is useful for weather averages.

Thanks Bunbaker. 18 doesn't sound great. Maybe we should think about the Canaries again ...

Coming a bit late to this - we went the second week of September a few years ago. Weather, although pleasant, was definitely on the turn and the resort was on shut down mode.

Canaries are perfect at that time of year - we go to Tenerife ( 5th year on the trot this year Blush) and find (fingers crossed) that the temperature is just right at mid - high twenties.

Thanks! DH has now booked Sardinia so am now just hoping for the best. I wanted Canaries...
