Can anyone recommend places or suggest ideas?

I am looking into booking a short break for myself DH and 3 older children. Would like to include a Northern Lights trip, Whale Watching and Dog Sledding and would like to travel after Christmas.

Have been looking at Norway or Iceland and have a budget of around £3000. Is this unrealistic, any advice or hints really appreciated.

Are you bound by school holidays? If so budget could be an issue.

If not groupon often have iceland/ northern lights trips cheaply and you can add other excursions.

If you are willing to share 1 room and self cater / eat out then look at hostels international iceland website. We did the most amazing holiday with thrm driving round iceland. We don't need " luxury" though - some bunk beds obv and some shared facilities. Mind you the Reykjavik hostel was new sparking and en suite.

Flights I think are now "wow air" or something but were iceland express and booking far enough ahead are about £50 pp each way!
