I know it's been done before, but please help! Also needs to not be too dark (aka Rainforest Cafe) as we'll be looking at wedding photos!

tia, Dinny
ps and if you can throw in somewhere nearby to take dd that's fun, that'd be even better!

do you have a quietish placid dd or a tearaway variety?

We had a fabulous family celebration lunch at Sheekeys, off St Martins Lane in rhe heart of theatreland. I was in trepidation because it is quite old-school, but the service there was impeccable and the food delicious. Staff were very kind to serial lavatory visitor dd (2 at the time) and ds, who drew mutant lobsters fighting cybermen for them on his paper napkin.

Or are you after an explicitly family-oriented restaurant - we tend to go to either Ozer, or Tas (both good Turkish chains and very child-welcoming), or Wagamama (ditto but Japanese and rather hectic to look at wedding photos in).

The Oxo Tower ? Yes, seriously. Not the one at the top but the one on the second floor called Tamesa. Delicious food, impeccable service, kiddi menu and a fab view. Best dining experience with children for a long time.

Nearby activities - boat trip from the Tate ?
