DH and I will be in Venice for a day and a half in late September. Since our time is so short I don't want to waste time searching for somewhere to eat lunch. Trip advisor is mind-bogglingly full of thousands of places to eat and narrowing it down is hard, so some personal recommendations would be really helpful.
Criteria are:
- not too pricy (have an evening meal booked when we'll blow the budget!!)
- preferably to the east of St Marks Sq
- traditional venetian style (food and surroundings, while being big enough to guarantee we'll get a table and save further wandering!)
We've never been to Venice before and I don't really have any idea of the length of time it takes to walk from place to place so any help on how long it might take to get to suggested restaurants would also be gratefully received.
