Can I fly from London to Manchester?

I am a bit of a dummy with regards to booking flights etc. I want to attend a conference in Manchester but don't want to have to drive. Which air port would I go from Gatwick or Heathrow?

Why not take the train? There are plenty of those from London to Manchester. Probably much quicker and easier than flying once you take into account getting to the airport, check-in times etc.

Heathrow. BA do several flights a day.

I flew Manchester to London recently. I flew into Heathrow. It is a very quick flight!

It's probably less hassle on the train Euston to Manchester Piccadilly to be honest. Where's the conference?

you can - I did it once on business, but unless you are on the south side of London it will be quicker to take the train. book ahead.

it is a bizarre flight - up and then straight down!
