Destination ideas for 50th bday holiday in Jan/Feb

We are in the initial stages of brainstorming destinations for DH's 50th birthday (end of January/early Feb) in a couple years' time and looking for inspiration from you lovely lot.

As DD will only be 5 years, I just realised it rules out my dream of a Tanzanian safari by Ngorongoro Crater.

I'm wondering for those who have traveled with children that age, where would you recommend?

We're open to both sunny and cold destinations but would ideally like to avoid places we've either lived in or both already traveled throughout and keep the flight time to 10-11 hours at most. Currently, this rules out the US, Middle East (except Oman), South Africa, Australia, and South America.

Thanks all!

Caribbean or Mauritius?

I think Mauritius is around 14 hours (from Uk).
Caribbean would be good. Barbados is very child friendly. Bahamas are nice too.
I love Hong Kong and it's great for small children.

We've just got back from a tour of Sri Lanka and it was amazing. Our kids were 11,9 and 4 and they loved it.

How about Thailand? Thomson now flies direct to Phuket which could be easier than changing planes for your DS.

Florida keys. that's where I went for my 50th and it was fantastic.
