Can you find out if you will gain entry to America before you book?

I'm thinking about booking florida next year for myself and dcs. My sister and friend are looking to join us too however I have a conviction from 6 years ago. It was a noise nuisance charge (17yo, thought I was funny and I wasn't) and someone told me that any form of criminal record would stop me from getting into the USA.

Can you check anywhere?

Apply for your esta...you can change the travel dates and info later on. That will give you an idea anyway. Is it deffo a conviction. ..or just a caution?

You'll need to apply for a visa rather than using the visa waiver programme. So you would certainly know before you booked that way.

There's more information here:

Thanks so much.

It was a conviction I'm sure, I never went to court but I was fined £250 via letter by the court.

I'll have a look thank you.

I would say esta. The question is this (direct from esta website)

Have you ever been arrested or convicted for an offense or crime involving moral turpitude or a violation related to a controlled substance; or have been arrested or convicted for two or more offenses for which the aggregate sentence to confinement was five years or more; or have been a controlled substance trafficker; or are you seeking entry to engage in criminal or immoral activities?

I doubt they'd be interested in noise. I'm struggling to even imagine what you could do, relating to noise, to be arrested, prosecuted and convicted?
