dh and I are bring big kids and heading to Orlando for 2 weeks. second time in 2 years we'll be doing this. last time we hotel hopped and never again!

anyway just after suggestions of good reasonably priced hotels we could stay in. We stayed at the rosen plaza last time and a motel in kissimmee. The motel wasn't that great but rosen was lush! would go there again but they're fully booked :(

We liked the Embassy Suites at Lake Buena Vista. Suites with two double beds in one room, and separate lounge with big sofa bed. Huge, free buffet breakfast, and free drinks and snacks in the early evening. Good pool area.
Great location, especially if you are driving, excellent short cut to Universal avoiding all main roads, and also close to Disney. Also walkable (just) to several restaurants in evening.

Glad to hear the Rosen Plaza was fab, we go there in October. What about the Rosen Centre?

I've stayed at the Lake Buena Vista Resort Village twice now:

www.lbvorlandoresort.com/

they do apartments with full kitchen and washing machines etc.. Big pool area and a quieter one and were reasonably priced and comfortable. They have $5 shuttles to the parks, or are very nearby for driving yourself too. About 10min drive to a big Target or 10min in other direction to premium outlets.

hairy I'm not sure about the other rosen hotel. If the plaza is anything to go by then it'll be great! We didn't eat there at all as it seemed really pricey

I know where this hotel is, been past it on my last visit to Orlando.
Its a bit off the beaten track and you would need a car, its about 1/2 mile from I Drive and its near a busy junction. The immediate area around it is not fab either, would not want to walk around there in darkness for instance. That Wet and Wild park looks a tad run down these days as well.

I would look for accommodation on I Drive starting and only south of Sandlake Road.

The Rosen Centre is nicely appointed but mainly aimed at conventioneers as it is located near to the convention centre (Orlando is the second most popular city in the US for conventions).

Is it the Rosen Inn opposite Wet and Wild? We stayed there last time and I thought it was really good. Pool area is a bit small but we used Wet and Wild as an extension of it. The rooms had all been refurbished and were a reasonable size . The location was great. You can see all the coasters in universal from the rooms and Seaworld and Aquatica were just a quick trolley ride away. Ponderosa is right across the road for breakfast and Chillis is very close as well. They often do 241 on wine and beer.

I would give it a go. It won't be a fancy as the Rosen Plaza but still a great choice. When do you go?

We stayed at the Radisson just at the end of Hotel Blvd. Not a massively attractive hotel, however clean and big rooms, 5 minutes walk to a supermarket and a few other shops/restaurants but main benefit was a pleasant 15 minute walk to Downtown Disney. This was great for us as we could have a glass of wine or two then walk home with child in buggy.

We stayed at the Homewood Suites by Hilton on I drive. Some of the decor was a bit tired but it was really clean, the staff were excellent and there was a free buffet style breakfast. The rooms had a separate sitting room/kitchen with full sized fridge/freezer and dishwasher.
It's walkable to loads of restaurants including pointe Orlando.

Have a wonderful holiday. We are saving to go back.
