Recommend me a cheap but good brand of UV-protection clothes?

I hope this is the right thread - it's travel-related shopping.

I want some UV-protection tops for my 8 and 6 yrs olds to wear in an outdoor swimming pool. But I'm getting overwhelmed by all the brands and different types. I want as cheap as possible but don't want to end up with something that's so cheap it has some major flaw, like skimpy sizes, or itchy bits or being difficult to put on. Getting the kids to wear these is going to be a bit of a struggle, so anything like that could be a deal-breaker.

Any recommendations or brands to avoid gratefully welcomed. Thank you.

what you want is called a rash vest, and is available from surf shops - quite trendy I believe. :-)

try online places such as surfdome. You want ones with a collar and ideally long sleeves. Once out of the pool they cool the body, so take them off then and replace with a t-shirt. With the salt rinsed out they dry rapidly.

chlorine destroys them so I agree, don't spend too much.

Thank you, those are very helpful tips!

Anyone got any specific brands they'd recommend

I bought these for my dds from decathlon, they were about £4 each and did the job - yes, i was right £3.99.

Wow, that is excellently cheap! Thank you. There isn't a Decathlon in my area, but I will see if I can get to one on my travels.

I bought one this year for my 8 year old DD, £6 from sports direct. It has been worn all day long, and it still in great condition, just rinsed through each night. If there isn't a Sports direct near you, they do deliver

Thanks, will investigate. I think there is one near me.

Pay the postage if none near you, I had to spend €30 on holiday to get DD one.

Next years will be from Decathlon.
