Have you been on a cycling/wine-tasting sort of holiday?

The kind where you cycle gently between B&Bs, and someone else takes care of your luggage, in France or similar.

Anything you'd recommend?

Anything you'd warn about?

oooh no I haven't but bumping for you as dp has always fancied doing one of these holidays eek and I'm kind of up for it but probably when ds's are older and we don't have to drag them around with us Grin. So I'd be interested to see if others have done this!

iwantgin · 10/08/2014 19:19

No, but I'd like to.

Will watch for replies :)

I haven't but some friends of mine have (in the Dordogne/Medoc). I'm afraid I don't know who they went with but they said it was fantastic but the big disadvantage was that you couldn't buy more than a bottle or two of the lovely wine you tasted, because you couldn't carry more on your bike!

AgentProvocateur · 12/08/2014 20:58

I'd like to too. Looked into it once on this site www.cycling-for-softies.co.uk but didn't take it further.

ooh cycling for softies looks to have some lovely short breaks.

Trills · 16/08/2014 21:32

Bump in case anyone is bored on a Saturday evening.

Other questions include - would you go for a package where you get dinner, or assume that everywhere you stopped would have lovely places that didn't require booking?

Aaarrggghhh - every time I look at the cycling for softies website I'm horrified all over again by how expensive it is... Grin Is that because there are no other companies offering anything similar? Must google...

Trills · 25/08/2014 18:23

I think that cycling for softies often includes posh dinners as well.

www.freedomtreks.co.uk/ These people look pretty good and not quite so outrageously expensive.
